This position is responsible for professional work in coordinating, planning, and the supervision of the Church’s Christian Education ministry and programming for all ages; does related work as required. Essential functions and job duties include: coordinate and supervise an effective Church Sunday School for all ages; plan, coordinate, supervise and participate in Vacation Bible School and other summer programs; plan, coordinate and supervise UMYF and UMK programs and special children’s Christmas and other special programs; lead children sermons during worship services and plan and coordinate children’s church; plan, organize and lead youth mission trips and retreats; performs other tasks as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:thorough knowledge of Christian Education principles; ability to speak in public; ability to communicate effectively through written and oral methods; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to work a varied schedule to include Sunday’s and some evenings; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with minister, staff, church membership, lay committees and the general public; ability to prepare and maintain records.Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university of recognized standing, with major work in Christian Education, Theology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid appropriate driver’s license and ability to obtain and pass Red Cross First Aid and CPR training classes and be Safe Sanctuary approved within the first 6 months of employment. Salary: $32,500 Plus benefits: Health Insurance and Pension.
