Job Responsibilities

• Create, manage and execute the church’s communication calendar.
  • Work with staff to identify upcoming events and messages for dissemination
  • Identify key audiences for messages and make recommendations on the best channels with which to reach those audiences
• Create content for and assist staff in the production of physical and digital collateral in support of their programs
• Train and develop staff and church membership on communications methods to grow church’s communications capacity
  • Teach staff members about communications tools available to them and how to utilize them
  • Grow the church’s online following on key digital platforms and work with members on how they can amplify church messages
  • Work with church staff and membership on talking points and best practices for sharing key messages.
• Manage outside vendors for tasks such as web development and graphic design to ensure work is completed on time and on budget.
• Analyze communications penetration to identify most effective channels by audience.
• Stay professionally connected to the communications world and seek continuing education in order to Identify and implement new communications tools.

• Has demonstrated experience creating dynamic communications in multiple media.
• Has demonstrated experience coaching and empowering others to actively communicate about their programs.
• Has an eye for design and can work with graphic designers to implement a consistent brand through all church communications.
• Works creatively with others and adapts quickly to unforeseen events and changing priorities.
