Organist/Accompanist

Mount Tabor UMC is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Organist/ Accompanist.  This is a 12 hour per week, part-time, salaried position that is part of The Traditional Worship Arts ministry team at Mount Tabor Church. This includes playing music for the choral rehearsals, church services of Traditional worship, and special events.
 
The qualified candidate should preferably have a Bachelor’s degree in music with organ as a major instrument or equivalent education and experience. They should also have a demonstrated proficiency in playing the Sanctuary Organ which is a 2-manual Casavant pipe organ with a recent digital upgrade, adjustable bench and moveable console.  This person will have a broad knowledge of organ repertoire, the ability to sight read accompaniments of moderate difficulty and play from open score (four part).  They should be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, work well with others and be flexible with changes in work hours during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons.
 
The church will run a background and criminal check as well as require a drug test prior to employment.
