Bridge to Recovery available in Stanly/Union/Cabarrus counties
Bridge To Recovery (BTR) is a faith-based alcohol and drug treatment center serving Stanly/Union/Cabarrus counties, and all surrounding areas. BTR offers low-cost, high-value treatment in a gentle Christian environment. Due to our generous supporters, we often have the ability to scholarship those without funds. We have provided direct care to over 1,300 men and women since we opened our doors in 2011. We strive to offer substance abuse services to all in need, regardless of ability to pay.
Although substance abuse has reached epic proportions, treatment availability has actually decreased over the years. Access to this type of healthcare is becoming less and less feasible for many people. It is becoming harder and harder for individuals without resources to get help. If you don’t have deep pockets or a premium insurance policy, help is frequently out of reach. It is not unusual for a facility to turn away dozens of people daily.
Scenario: Imagine providing a good Christian home to a 23 year-old son who has recently gone astray. You plead with the boy to get help before something horrible happens. After several harrowing experiences, the boy finally agrees and you begin to look for a treatment center. You find very expensive $25,000 facilities. You find facilities with six-week waiting lists. You find $6,000 co-pays if the boy does have insurance. You find state sponsored facilities that tell you there are no beds available, and, the addiction isn’t bad enough (yet) to meet criteria. While you desperately call all over trying to get him help, he gives-up and goes back to the drugs. This happens every single day.
Bridge To Recovery was originally founded on the premise that no one seeking help should find closed doors. In November 2011, a small group of individuals created our grass roots organization, and we have grown every year since that day. We are community-minded and believe in neighbor helping neighbor. We charge a very low fee for services, are mostly church supported, and we rely on donations and grants.
Treatment for substance abuse takes many forms. BTR is faith-based, but we employ a variety of clinical techniques. We are community-based, which means 12-Step and Church support is an important part of follow-up care, after graduation. We are abstinence-based, which means we do not use drugs to keep people off of drugs. THIS DOESN’T WORK. We all rely on the Bible for Spiritual guidance, but God also created clinical intervention and community-based support. These are critical. BTR offers a unique and effective program utilizing professional practice and Spiritual Renewal. BTR’s licensed/certified counselors, and ordained Pastors, lead clients through powerful transformations.
Low overhead means we can offer professional services at a minimum charge. Nearly 100% of funding goes to direct care of our clients; we have very little administrative cost. We charge just enough to make payroll and keep the lights turned on. Right now, our needs are a new van, literature for our classes and basic lawn equipment. We also have a scholarship fund; $2,500 covers the cost of a 28-day treatment. This is a small fraction of the usual cost for this type of care.
BTR offers free interventions and family consultations. We are here for you when you need us.
