Mooresville, NC is an exciting, growing, lake community near Charlotte, NC.  Central UMC is a mission focused, welcoming community of faith in the heart of downtown.  We are a downtown church with a small town feel.  We are seeking a vibrant, musically gifted follower of Jesus to serve as our Modern Worship Leader.  This is a part-time position.  

Position Summary

Lead the praise band and assist in leading modern music during the Sunday worship service. Rehearse and schedule the band, recruit and train new musicians, connect with the congregation, communicate effectively with the band, tech team and congregation, and cultivate a culture of worship among the community of faith. 

Essential Qualifications

• An active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for leading others in worship

• Commitment to the mission of the Church

• Competency in voice and guitar and/or piano

• Excellent  verbal and interpersonal skills

• Ability to learn and use Planning Center online software

• Ability to work collaboratively and accept input from others

• Some education in music preferred

Position is open. Salary range: 15-20k depending on experience.
