Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I; send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)
The WNC Conference needs lay and clergy leaders for committees, boards, and teams for the 2020-2024 quadrennium. Do you know a leader who has gifts for ministry at the conference level? Is it you?
As in the local church, the Annual Conference has a nominating committee which makes nominations for conference-level teams, boards, and committees.
Every four years, membership on the conference entities is reconsidered. The maximum number of years of service on most of the entities is 8 years. Service will begin on July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2024.
There are many opportunities for service within the conference, as well as on district committees, and in other ways. Part of the conference nominations process includes the opportunity for WNC clergy and laity to nominate themselves or another person for a particular committee or entity.
The entities filled by the conference nominating committee are found at this link. They include opportunities such as Finance and Administration, Mission Engagement, Archives, Justice & Reconciliation, and MANY more.
You may want to offer yourself for service, but don’t know how you would like to serve. That is fine. The form allows for you to identify your gifts and your interest, and the nominations committee will prayerfully consider the best need for your specific gifts and talents.
You may offer yourself or someone else for consideration until January 1, 2020. The conference nominating committee will meet in January and February to make the nominations. Persons who are asked to serve will be notified later in the spring. A roster of proposed membership on each entity will be presented to the 2020 Annual conference meeting, for consideration for the 2020-24 quadrennium.
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, please complete the form below. (Or to open in a new window, click this link.)
