Here at University City UMC (Charlotte) we are seeking a part time Hospitality Coordinator who will prepare the Wednesday Night Live meal and oversee our Sunday morning coffee service.

Wednesday Night Live is a ministry program that reaches out to our community and provides a free meal along with Bible studies and classes 28 weeks out of the year.  We are looking for an individual with the gift of hospitality and the ability to prepare a meal for 100-125 guests.  This position will work with our volunteers to create a great experience for our guests.

The Hospitality Coordinator will also oversee our coffee service on Sunday mornings.

Responsibilities include ordering all paper products, supplies, and managing the hospitality budget.

This part time position is an average of 12 hrs per week.

Job Description

General Purpose:

This position will be responsible for the preparation of our Wednesday Night Live Meals and Sunday morning coffee service for our congregation.  
Wednesday Night Live Meal: (WNL)
            Order all food items and paper products needed to complete the meal
            Prepare and cook for approximately 100-125 guests 28 weeks out of year    
            Coordinate and grow existing volunteer team that helps facilitate the setup,
           cooking, cleaning, and tear down.
            Keep record of all receipts and manage the Hospitality budget
           Together with one other person count donations and fill out deposit form and
           place in accounting office.
Sunday Morning Coffee Service:
          Make sure fresh coffee is brewed at the coffee bar and stock with paper products,
          cream and sugar
          Make sure Coffee Machine in cafe is running properly and stocked with beans,
          flavored powders, paper products, cream, and sugar
          Coordinate with volunteers who prepare refreshments for Cafe
          Responsible for ordering and purchasing all coffee, creamers, paper products,
          beans, grounds, coffee filters, etc...
          Clean up after Sunday morning coffee service
Experience Preferred
            Experience cooking for events with over 100+ people
           Experience in building volunteer teams and managing them
Skills Desired
            Food preparation and cooking
           Knowledge of food allergies and sensitivities
            Good Communication and hospitable to guests
            Managing a budget
Computer Experience
            Microsoft Word and Excel
Salary: $12 per hour, average of 12hrs per week
                Wednesday Night Live - 12 hrs per week for 28 weeks
                Coffee/paperwork - 6 hrs per week for 52 weeks
 Optional Work Opportunities:              
            There will be special events like funerals, weddings, or UMC district events
            that could provide additional work opportunities.  The hospitality services for
            these events will be paid per event.
