Inve$t Young Clergy 2018-19 Session #4
Have you ever been in a car with lots of great features, but you weren’t sure exactly what they do or how you can use them?
The United Methodist Pension plan – administered by Wespath – can be a lot like that. As United Methodist clergy, we participate in a leading, highly-rated pension program. But, how can you get the most out of it and make it work for you? Bob Christophel, Benefits Educator with Wespath, will give us a “how-to” on maximizing the Pension plan. Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol, pastor of Washington, DC’s Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, will offer hope and encouragement for us as we continue to plan and prepare for a lifetime of fruitful ministry.
Hosted and facilitated by the Rev. A.J. Thomas, Founder, Joyful Giving Group LLC.
Please arrive between 9:15 - 9:45. Lunch will be included, and the seminar will finish by 4pm.
Thursday, May 2, 2019
@ Webb Conference Center, High Point University, High Point NC

INVE$T YC (Young Clergy) promotes financial health and personal practices. Many young clergy begin their ministry with significant debt and don’t have the tools, skills, and experience to budget, save, and eliminate debt. This can interfere with one’s ability to preach, teach, and practice generosity and stewardship in a local congregation. INVE$T YC is designed to help clergy be pro-active instead of re-active. The program also will teach skills for young clergy to manage stress, set boundaries, and establish practices that enable a lifetime of healthy ministry.
The program that includes four events aimed at helping young clergy develop and maintain life-long practices of financial and personal health: September 17-18, November 1, January 24, May 2. Interested participants may sign up for one or multiple sessions.
