The Religion and Philosophy department is pleased to announce our annual Spring lecture to be held virtually on Thursday, March 25th at 4 p.m. This year's guest lecturer is J. Warren Smith, Professor of Historical Theology at Duke University Divinity School. Dr. Smith's lecture is titled Will the Real Great-Souled Man Please Stand Up? Aristotle’s Ideal of Magnanimity in the Hands of Austen and Dostoevsky.
 

The Charles Franklin Finch Lecture series at HPU dates back to 1960, and it is a yearly endowed lectureship. The purpose of the Charles Franklin Finch lecture is “to foster dialogue and to deepen understanding regarding issues of importance to communities of faith.”
