Heather Lear, Director of Evangelism at Discipleship Ministries, will join us for our clergy meeting on February 13 to unpack what contextualized, Wesleyan evangelism looks like in the 21^st Century. Come join us at McKendree UMC, 3537 Maiden Hwy, Lincolnton beginning at 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
 
She will return to the Catawba Valley District in April to work with the laity on telling their stories and looking at both the congregational and their everyday lives through an evangelistic lens.
 
Reverend Dr. Heather Heinzman Lear
Heather Heinzman Lear is the Director of Evangelism at Discipleship Ministries of the UMC in Nashville, TN. In her current role, Heather provides evangelism training and resources to local churches, districts and annual conferences, partners with the ESJ Professors of Evangelism, serves as a Trustee for the Foundation for Evangelism, and represents the UMC at several ecumenical bodies. She is an elder in the North Carolina Annual Conference, and served three appointments prior to beginning her current position. Heather holds degrees from Boston University, Duke Divinity School, and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She is grateful for her husband’s support that enables her ministry and for her 9-year old son and one year old rescue dog, who constantly remind her of what the Kingdom of God and unconditional love look like.
