Life Around the Table invites you to join us for a weekend retreat September 23-24 to celebrate the mystery and miracles that happen when we gather around the table. At the retreat you will get a taste of our new curriculum, Eating Together, and its application to your community, along with opportunities for creative worship, storytelling, networking with local food practitioners, and hands-on workshops. Come and take part in an extended conversation about food and faith as we eat together.

Who is this retreat for?
Educators, pastors, lay leaders, congregants, and community advocates who want to gain theological insights and learn about practical applications for transforming the ways our communities eat together.
What can I expect during the retreat?
- Scripture workshops designed to spark the biblical imagination, including a session led by acclaimed Duke Divinity theologian, Dr. Norman Wirzba.
- Story-based workshops that share examples of community innovation, including a session led by Anathoth Community Garden and Farm.
- Hands-on workshops that teach knife skills, table cloth design, juice pressing, and bread making.
- Delicious, locally sourced meals prepared by Chef Cyril Murphy from Camp Chestnut Ridge and Chef Vimala Rajendran of Curryblossom Cafe.
- Community worship, collaborative art projects, and more!
