Convocation & Pastors’ School | Body and Belonging: Nurturing Wholeness in Christian Community

How might the church serve as a place of welcome and belonging, nurturing wholeness in every possible sense? How does the church, as Christ’s body, walk with those whose bodies or minds act and respond differently? How might Christians helpfully engage in practices of modern healthcare? Join professor John Swinton, Episcopal priest Claire Wimbush, pastors Debra Richardson-Moore and William Lee and others as we explore the difference Christ’s body makes for the way that we care for our communities and ourselves. The annual Convocation & Pastors’ School is an intensive, two-day conference that offers lectures, worship and seminars for Christian leaders of all traditions. Led by scholars and practitioners from Duke and beyond, this event is a cooperative endeavor with the North Carolina and Western North Carolina Conferences of The United Methodist Church. The Convocation also includes alumni gatherings. Pastors serving churches eligible for grants from The Duke Endowment, current Divinity School students, and 2015 graduates of the Divinity School can attend the event at a discounted rate.  Register for Convocation & Pastors’ School.
