BEHOLD I THIRST ! PASTORAL CARE OF ALCOHOL ABUSERS IN CONGREGATIONAL SETTINGS

Helping people to find the help they need is a part of  congregational leadership; this seminar can help! This series is for clergy and those who are pastoral caregivers caring for individuals and families suffering from alcohol abuse/addiction and related problems such as depression, trauma, anxiety and grief. The seminar provides training in assessment, follow-up and referral. It will also outline ways in which the church can provide valuable spiritual, faith oriented resources for congregational ministry . Our resource reading  is  Pastoral  Care of Alcohol Abusers  by Andrew J. Weaver and Harold G. Koenig, MD. and Addiction and Grace by Gerald G. May, MD. Case presentation will include time for group discussion and support in a fully confidential environment . Presenter:  Reverend Gary L. Kling, D.Min., LPC, Director / pastoral psychotherapist at Chrysalis Counseling and Consultation Center , Inc. Cost : $40./ person , lunch is included. CEU’s provided for continuing education  credit.
