We are teaming up with
The Duke Endowment and
Thriving Rural Communities to provide a learning opportunity for pastors, musicians, and church leaders. The conference is supported by a grant from the Yadkin Valley District of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Roots Revival: Tradition + Innovation will be held at Assurance United Methodist Church (9700 Mount Holly-Huntersville Road, Huntersville, NC) on Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The conference will include a Roots Revival-style worship service, a workshop on music and worship planning with Martha Bassett, and a cross-generational conversation about the future of the church between Rev. Sarah Howell (Centenary UMC, Winston-Salem) and her father, Rev. Dr. James C. Howell (Myers Park UMC, Charlotte). Join us as we engage not just nuts and bolts but also the question of how to shape our imaginations for worship in the church of the future. Registration is $15/person. Lunch will be provided.
