Summary
“Do No Harm 2015” is a sexual ethics summit addressing the most recent developments and challenges in prevention of and response to abuse, misconduct, and harassment of a sexual nature, particularly by persons in ministerial roles (both lay and clergy) within The United Methodist Church.
Purpose
The purpose of this conference is to provide resources of knowledge and skills to equip people in ministerial leadership positions to develop best practices in prevention and response to sexual abuse and misconduct within the church. The event provides opportunities for conference leaders, both clergy and laity to network across the denomination. The programs and workshops provide understanding, skill-building, and grounding for the participants to clarify their roles and to coordinate their efforts with persons in other roles as the church addresses problems of sexual abuse and misconduct
Intended Audience
“Do No Harm 2015” is intended for annual conference and district leadership, Response Team personnel, conference Safe Sanctuaries Teams, Bishops and other cabinet members, Directors of Connectional Ministries, as well as chancellors, counsel for the church, local church lay leaders and Staff Parish members, Board of Ordained Ministry members, campus ministers, and others who coordinate annual conference or district ministries related to sexual ethics and boundaries in ministerial relationships.
