Clergy serving rural churches are invited to retreat, reflect, and renew at this lightly scheduled gathering that offers opportunities for self care, rich conversation with rural ministry resource leaders, soul-lifting scenic views, grace-filled worship, and enjoyable time with colleagues who till similar soil. Our resource leaders include: singer/songwriter/guitarist and worship leader Tom Conlon from Virginia; lifelong rural ministry enthusiast and SC Conference District Superintendent Rev. Telley Gadson; rural ministry/Methodist studies “scholar from the holler” and WNCC local pastor Dr. Jonathan LeMaster-Smith; and Rev. Laura Hamrick, Clergy Engagement Coordinator for the Duke Clergy Health Initiative and WNCC elder. Retreat begins Monday at 5:00pm and wraps up at noon on Wednesday, but with options to add additional nights. This is a "do what you need to do for you” retreat; participate in as much or as little as you want. Retreat highlights include worship in the Chapel, with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains, delicious meals prepared by Hinton's head chef, conversation times with resource leaders in rural ministry and healthy living, "Creative Dabbling," therapeutic massage, along with trails, gardens, rocking chairs, dock for swimming/fishing, and more. Spouses are also welcome to participate. For more details and to register, visit www.hintoncenter.org/retreat . Check with the WNCC for continuing education and renewal support. Register by September 1. Hinton Rural Life Center is a retreat and mission outreach agency of the Southeastern Jurisdiction.
