WNCC United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (VIM) Building Teams
• Ready to take the next step in your faith journey?
Travel with a mission building team to transform lives in another part of the world. Countries served vary from one year to another, and span several continents throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, and in parts of Africa, Asia and Europe. [Download essential information here]
• How long are the trips?
10 to 14 days.
• What skills do I need?
Construction skills are desired, but not required. Enter your skills and country preferences on the application. The Building Teams Committee will use this information during the selection process in October.
• Do I have to be a member of a United Methodist Church?
No. Invite your friends, colleagues, family and neighbors, too.
• Can I talk with people who have participated?
Yes! Feel free to contact a country coordinator (see the project information) and/or come to the 2014 Reunion/Rally.
• When/where is the Reunion/Rally?
Christ Boulevard UMC in Statesville, Saturday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., including worship. Cost is $25 at the door and includes lunch. Contact Mary Doub, at firstname.lastname@example.org, to register.
• When can I sign up?
Registration begins in late summer, continues until teams are full (12-15 members) or 90 days prior to departure. Please apply as soon as possible, as many teams fill fast.
• What does it cost?
It varies from country to country. Team members donate the cost of travel and meals, as well as their time (see the project information).
• Is training available?
Participation in team-specific orientation is required. Team Leader Training is available during the year. To learn more and indicate your interest, contact Keys Pendleton, 704.974.3403 or email@example.com.
• Can’t go, but want to help?
